The Harrison County Fair Board has made a decision regarding the 2020 Harrison County Fair.
This came after many hours of research and speaking to the Harrison County Home & Public Health (HCH&PH) Department, Emergency Management Agency and CHI Health officials, according to a press release sent out June 18.
The Board made the difficult decision to postpone all Fair activities until 2021 including the entertainment, vendors, displays and grandstand events.
It was determined that this was the best decision due to the uncertainty of what the public health situation may look like in mid-July.
The decision was not made lightly, as we all want nothing more than to have the Fair we all know and love, but the health and safety were our main concerns, it said in the press release.
The Board is permitting the use of their facilities to the Harrison County ISU Extension & Outreach program to proceed with 4-H and FFA shows and exhibits.
The local Outreach office looks forward to providing the youth with the opportunity to exhibit their projects, showcasing their hard work and skills.
Shows and exhibits will be limited to the families of the participants. For more information, please visit the Harrison County ISU Extension & Outreach website.
