Trisha Lemaire (left) and Amber McCall (right) started the group. Both are from Missouri Valley and long-time friends.

Two Missouri Valley women are doing their best to empower other women in the county through a group they created on Facebook.

Several months ago, Trisha Lemaire and Amber McCall started Harrison County, IA Ladies Supporting Other Ladies. And so far, it has been quite successful.

“It blew up,” McCall commented about the group soon after they started it, which was in early May of this year.

The idea actually started with Trisha’s sister in North Carolina, who added Trisha to a group like this in her state.

She then encouraged Trisha to start one like it in Harrison County. And well, the rest is now a thing of the past.

Amber explained that the main idea is providing a “space” for women in the county to support other women.

“The group was created in hopes of lifting the spirits of ladies throughout Harrison County,” is a description of it given on the Facebook page.

Read more about this group and what the ladies in it are doing to help others in the July 29 issue of your hometown newspaper, The Twiner-Herald!
