The vote by the Harrison County Landfill Commission (HCLC) Board asking Dan Barry to resign from his post was unanimous.

Dan Barry served as the general manager of the landfill, which is located just north and east of Logan.

At the August 12 meeting, the Board talked about several agenda items before getting to the closed session, where they discussed the situation regarding Barry.

The closed session lasted roughly 40 minutes.

Back in open session, the motion asking Barry to resign was made by Board member Rick O'Neill and Board member Karen Breyfogle seconded it.

A little more background on the situation: Back at the July 17 HCLC Board meeting, it was unanimously decided to put Barry on administrative leave.

The decision was made due to an unknown reason.

When asked, Sherman Struble, chairperson of the Board, declined to comment on the situation at that time.

Tyler Hinkel was unanimously appointed as the temporary general manager of the landfill at that July meeting.

This time around, when asked, Struble and Barry both declined to comment about the situation.
