Lo-Ma School Board approves the purchase of new weight room equipment

This is a rendering of what the updated space would look like. Really, the project is aimed at creating more space and updating the equipment and in turn, hopefully getting kids more excited to use the weight room, according to Faith Bruck, grades 9-12 physical education instructor.

LOGAN — Create more space and update equipment are two of the main “to do” items Faith Bruck wants to tackle in a proposed weight room renovation project for the Lo-Ma School District.

The other major “aim” of the project is to help create more excitement around lifting, especially for the athletes who are consistent users of the space.

Bruck, grades 9-12 physical education instructor at the District, spoke with the School Board about it at their regular monthly meeting June 2.

A lot of the reason for me coming to talk to you, said Faith, is that my classroom is the weight room.

“[And] when we’re in there, we are spilling out in all directions,” she explained. “So we are looking at how we can make the space bigger.”

That “spilling out” is due to large class sizes.
