LOGAN — The Harrison County Public Health office has released information updating the public on the vaccine distribution process.

A January 21 press release from the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) says that they are currently still in Phase 1A. But, the next step will be starting soon.

“With the vaccination of Phase 1A closer to completion, it is time to focus attention on 1B,” the press release states.

Phase 1B includes people ages 65 years old and above or to certain populations vulnerable to high risk of exposure or severity of illness.

On their Facebook post January 21, the Public Health office said this is a dramatic change to the vaccination process plan because it now includes those 65 years and above.

“This group consists of 550,000 Iowans,” said the post. “Please be patient as we adjust to accommodate this larger group.”
