The Harrison County Board of Supervisors has decided to continue the “soft opening” period through Thursday, July 2.

As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic we are facing and the increase in positive cases, the Harrison County Board of Supervisors has decided to continue the “soft opening” period through Thursday, July 2.

During this “soft opening," elected officials and department heads will continue with the following recommendations.

For example, they will be allowed to determine the number of customers to be assisted within the office at any one time.

It is highly recommend/highly encouraged that the public wear masks upon entry into county facilities.

Plexiglass windows are installed at all counters to ensure everyone’s safety. And county facilities’ doors will remain locked. So to meet with a county employee will continue to be by appointment only.

Office staffing is left up to the elected officials and department heads as well. And whether employees wear masks/when they wear masks is also being left up to them.

Hand sanitizer is available to the public. Bottles will be located on the counters in each of the offices.

Department heads will periodically wipe down door handles and counter surfaces with disinfectant.

All offices are resuming their regular office hours during this "soft opening." Further operation discussions will be held at the Harrison County Board of Supervisors meeting July 2.
