DES MOINES — Three Logan-Magnolia wrestlers are competing in championship matches tonight, February 20.
In the 138-lb. class, sophomore Wyatt Reisz, who came in to the State Tourney with a 46-2 record, will battle senior Kael Brisker, of Wilton. Brisker’s record coming into the Tourney was 51-1.
Wyatt had a pin in the first round in 3:32, an 11-6 Decision and 3-2 Decision in order to make it to the championship.
Second on the docket will be Wyatt's brother, senior Briar Reisz, in the 152-lb. weight class.
Briar will wrestle Maximus Magayna, of Columbus Catholic, a freshman who came into the State Tourney with a 41-0 record.
In order to make it the championship round, Briar won by pinfall in 2:28, a 9-4 Decision and a 3-1 Sudden Victory.
Finally, in the heavyweight division at 285 pounds, junior Rex Johnsen won by pinfall in 1:01, by pinfall again in 1:09 and a very close 7-6 Decision to earn his way to the championship round.
Johnsen will verse junior Chet Buss, of North Butler-Clarksville, who came into the State Tourney 36-0.
